Quick Start Guide

Turning on the taggers, medic box and controller.

Insert the provided key into the key slot on the piece of equipment.
Turn the key 90 degrees to the right and wait for the screen to read "WAITING FOR REF TO START". The sensors on the equipment will flash to indicate it is ready for the game to start.
Repeat for all pieces of equipment you will be using, including the taggers, medic boxes and master controller.

Starting and stopping the game.

Once it is turned on and ready, press the green button to start the game. All equipment that is turned on and displaying WAITING FOR REF TO START will be activated, and you will see a timer starting to count up on the master controller screen.
To end the game, press the red button on the master controller. This will send a signal out to all active equipment to end the current game. The timer will also stop counting on the master controller.
We recommend running games for 5-10 minutes at a time for maximum fun and to give players a break!

Where players need to aim to tag other players.

Players need to aim at one of three sensors located on the tip of the taggers:
1. The light strip on the left side of the tagger,
2. The clear bulb on top of the tagger, and
3. The light strip on the right side of the tagger.

Reloading your tagger when it runs out of ammo.

Each tagger starts with 30 'rounds' of ammunition before it needs to be reloaded. This is built in to give players a chance to return fire if they are being targeted by another player.
Players can see their remaining ammunition in the current magazine by checking the middle bar of the display.
The reload sequence will take 5 seconds to complete. Players will see a countdown on their display once the reload sequence has started. Getting hit will restart the reload process, so make sure to tell players to take cover before they reload!
By default, the reload sequence will begin automatically once the ammunition level reaches zero.
Players can also trigger a manual reload by pressing the red button on the left side of the tagger.

Changing the fire mode on your tagger.

By default, each tagger will begin the game in 'automatic' mode, meaning players can simply hold down the trigger for continuous fire (until they run out of ammunition!).
Players are also able to select 'single fire' mode, meaning each pull of the trigger will only fire one round. This can be helpful to conserve ammunition and play more tactically - it also makes for a fun twist on a game!
To change between fire modes, press the black button on the left side of the tagger.

How to respawn when a tagger is deactivated.

At the start of the game, each player's tagger will have 5 'hit points', meaning they can take 5 hits from the enemy before their tagger is deactivated. To help players get into cover after taking a hit, they are invincible (and unable to return fire) for 3 seconds.
Once a player has been deactivated, their tagger will stop firing and the screen will display 0 hit points on the top bar of the display.
A player can return to their medic box during a game to 'respawn' (refill) their lives once deactivated. Note: a player will only be able to respawn once completely out of lives!
To respawn, a player can simply hold the light strip on either side of their tagger over the light strip on the medic box.
Once successful, the tagger will say "respawned" and the player's tagger will become active again.
